Overview

UnaVision is a growing knowledge and collaborative network driven by likeminded people and their communities, organizations, initiatives and regions. UnaVision people cherish an intense and ongoing contact with each other, and are actively involved in co-developing and implementing prototypes and innovative approaches for a systemic change.

UnaVision regions

The UnaVision regional community are stakeholders/interestgroups (neighborhoods, villages, communities, initiatives, organizations, universities) within a region where likeminded people actively collaborate to create and implement a prototype of systemic change as an example for sustainable development. The main objective is to take part in the emergence of lively, healthy, balanced regions of various sizes and cultures which attract people to stay or to move in regardless of their background (culture, religion, education, social status). This encompasses among others:

  • establishing circular economies with eco-social entrepreneurships and meaningful, green workplaces; testing new economic models
  • creating a people centered learning environments based on project based learning, flipped classrooms activities; makerspaces/hackerspaces/hubs
  • creating preventive health and life care systems affordable for everybody;
  • creating a rich social and cultural environment,
  • creation of a permaculture region and encourage local and organic food supply
  • implementing of a participatory - sociocratic approach for the administration of the region,
  • foster an extensive international short and long-term exchange of interested people between the locations in order to learn from each other

UnaVision global network

The global UnaVision network connects the UnaVision regions. It gives access to information, experience and knowledge of the other likeminded UnaVision regions. People and organizations open up and share their experiences freely. Experts of different fields give access to their knowledge and experience base. Personal, virtual and physical learning journeys between the regions bring people together. This enables the network to find higher quality solutions for their challenges faster and without regional boundaries. An active community co-creates and shares solutions for systems, products and services and opens up opportunities for value creation and work places.

  •  UnaVision uses information as well as social technologies in a systematic way to realize the objectives.
  • The global UnaVision network will be governed by a sociocratic system with elected general and top circles.
  • Learning and research journeys connect the people of the UnaVision regions.
  • Project based learning programs (cross cultural – cross generational – cross sectoral) offer a one to two years experience for all age groups.

Who are the people in the UnaVision network

At the moment there are people from following regions interested in forming the unaVision network: Albania, Austria, Bhutan, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Kosovo, Macedonia, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain. The network is forming and densifying starting at several locations in Europe. We value sustainability, creativity, crafts, skills, entrepreneurial spirit, arts, culture, participation, curiosity, learning and hospitality. We think that villages and neighborhoods are blessed because they are places where mankind can truly interact with each other and with nature. We want to foster these qualities and therefore do not go too much for quantity but for quality.

History of the UnaVision network

ThinkCamp is conducting hiking dialogs, idea camps and learning journeys since its conceptions in 2008. The UnaVision community spirit was born in 2013 during the “caravan of change” called “dunaVision”, which brought people together for an eight months long learning journey through fourteen Eastern European countries. The journey was coordinated by Sarah Kupke and Johannes Pfister and connected in 50 workshops around one thousand people. The journey as a pattern stands for individual inner learning journeys and physical journeys as groups. In the meantime, ThinkCamp conducted dozens of learning journeys and projects in many countries. The learning journey has brought us to places far away from the well beaten paths and trails of tourism, places that cherish their identity and value strangers who come to consciously enrich it.

Next steps in the network forming

Meetings (see UnaVision event calendar) for co-developing the concept of the UnaVision network based of the needs of the involved people and locations are planned during 2016-2017 in many regions within Europe, Americas and Asia. Gatherings of the community involving many stakeholders are planned in the Netherlands from November 9th to 14th 2016, Mexico in January 2017, and at another European location during the spring 2017.
In case you are interested in joining the initiative please contact Johannes Pfister: johannes.pfister@thinkcamp.eu

SenTour - EU Senior Travel Experience

With the SENTour Connect project ThinkCamp is co-developing with partners from Spain, Belgium, Slovenia, Austria, Italy and Portugal innovative learning journey packages for seniors.

Learning Journeys offer the opportunity to dive into the spirit of regions and to learn about special skills and traditions. You meet locals, learn from them, but may also share their expertise with people from the regions. Long-term off season tourism of several weeks to several months may intensify the insights into the local culture. This is a win-win situation for the regions and the visiting guests. This is a prototype Learning Journey packages co-developed within the SENTour Connect project.

The SENTour Connect project started from the idea that the senior market is an area for tourism expansion in low season within the European Union. Travel is a means to prolong a quality of life and Europe has a growing senior population for whom this is an important issue. The main objective of the project is to facilitate transnational tourism exchanges for seniors in the low season within the European domestic market. To do this, the project aims at creating innovative and sustainable transnational tourism packages for seniors, and improving the tourism seasonality patterns across Europe.

    Aims

    • Our Vision is a good and content life for all people while protecting our unique fragile biosphere.
    • Our Mission is to develop transformative learning processes from experience and apply them in prototypes.
    • Our Objectives are:
      • to realize many UnaVillage regions in rural areas as prototypes for inclusive, holistic and resilient models for a sustainable life in harmony with nature and the community around
      • to co-design and implement eco-social concepts for sustainable economies as well as models for living, working and entrepreneurships and communicate the experiences
      • to co-design, use and disseminate innovative, people oriented transformative learning processes (UNI)
    • Please contact us at info@thinkcamp.eu.

    UnaVision Initiative

The UnaVision initiative invites you for co-creating and refining an emergent framework for prototypes of good living that respects a diverse global society and the biosphere of our planet. This includes the advantage of being especially adaptive and resililent to changes of the environment like climate destruction. We systematically practice, refine, adapt and expand this framework in UnaVillage regions and spread over all continents. A global sharing and solidary UnaVision community supports this systematic transformative learning process with international exchange of experience and competence (UNI). We take responsibility for the dignity of people of different genders, ages, educational backgrounds, races and beliefs and for the protection and regeneration of the environment and nature. UnaVillages and the UnaVision network will be governed with a sociocratic system. An intensive international knowledge exchange coordinated by the tools of the UnaVersity will support the co-development for a better livelihood for all people. Our common UnaVillage framework will support the UnaVillage regions in their emergence and co-development. We also aim at providing free access to food, accommodation, education, preventive health services, cultural activities and a safety net in case of special needs, health problems and peaceful aging for all UnaVillage community members who support the movement with 50% of their time and resources. This gives people the scope and the spare time to do what they "really, really want to do with their lives for themselves and for society". This enables emergence of fundamental improvement for our own lives, our communities and our environment by activating, joining and working with like-minded people for good living. We like to recognize patterns and co-create a pattern language, how future living can be "good living for everybody", and at the same time secure a sustainable development of our planet as we are all interdependent within one biosphere on one planet. This is our common UnaVision.

    You like to participate ?

The co-design of the UnaVision framework and the first prototypes of UnaVillages are in full progress. We invite you to join our working circles and topic circles sharing your skills, knowledge, experience and resources. We like to identify, document and realize patterns and guidelines for the UnaVision movement. We are looking for inspired people who like to engage full time or part time. In case you are inspired and motivated by our vision and like to participate in a hands-on approach, then we are looking for YOU. You can either move into an UnaVillage prototype and help building it up and/or share your time, knowledge and resources with one of the topic or supporting teams. Please contact us at info@thinkcamp.eu.

    Trainee or Thesis ?

You can apply anytime for a trainee period of 6 to 12 months or for shorter internships. The coordinator of the UnaVision network is the thinkcamp non-profit cooperative based in Germany. Your trainee stay will be at one of our emerging locations learning hands-on. There are many topics from which you can choose for your Bachelor or Master Thesis relating to rural development, soil improvement, regenerative energy, preventive health care, nutrition, natural building materials, education, economics, new approaches to project management and so on. Please contact us at info@thinkcamp.eu.

    History

The fundament of the UnaVision initiative is based on the input from many people participating in idea camps, hiking dialogs, learning journeys and academies of the Global Marshall Plan Initiative. Based on this the conception for the non-profit cooperative ThinkCamp was born in 2007. It initiated in 2013 the “Caravan of Change” called “dunaVision” (see Report) in which the UnaVision initiative emerged: During this eight months long journey, more than on thousand people from over fourteen European countries connected in 50 workshops to talk about "What is really, really important in our lives for ourselves, the society and our planet?" The ThinkCamp idea emerged out of the Global Marshall Plan activities to foster bottom up initiatives and to prototype new frameworks for a regenerative world. A big influence to our approach comes from Frithjof Bergmann with his breakthrough concept of New Work - New Culture. Important impulses come from the principle of pattern language and the Nature of Order from Christopher Alexander, the Transition NetworkGIVE (Global Village Network), Global Ecovillage Network GEN, Economy for the Common Good and the Basic Income Network BIEN.
